20240501T1030 20240501T1130 America/New_York How to Identify and Prevent Electronic Academic Document Fraud?

Electronic academic records reduce the risk of credential fraud. While the technology for sharing documents electronically makes the process of authenticating academic records safer and more transparent than ever before, it does not entirely obviate the risk of fraud. Digitization of the documents and document transmission process has also led to novel attempts at forgery. Recent trends in fraud adapt to new conditions and shift to use digital environment to their advantage. This raises a new challenge for organizations to stay ahead of the new electronic fraud models. In this presentation, we will share the recent patterns and trends we identified in academic document fraud for electronic documents. We will share examples of fake emails, websites, and portals that were used to share those documents. The focus of the presentation will be on sharing practical techniques and strategies that we use to identify and prevent sharing academic documents from illegitimate transmission sources.

Note: Zoom links will be sent to the email addresses on file for registered attendees about 1 hour before each webinar begins. In addition, about 15 minutes before each webinar, the green "Join Meeting" button on each webinar description page will be activated for registered attendees who login.
