In the 2021/22 school year, Brazil ranked 8th globally in terms of the number of international students studying in the United States. In this session, we will provide a brief historical overview of the educational system of Brazil, discuss current challenges, survey a variety of credentials at different levels, and look at how to use the e-MEC site to search for recognition. We will additionally look at several challenging topics related to the Brazilian education system for credential evaluators, including lato sensu vs. stricto sensu programs, 3- and 3.5-year bachelor's degrees, and unique degree progressions.

Wendy is a specialist with over 4 years of experience in the foreign credential evaluation field and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Currently she works as an Evaluations Team Lead at International Education Evaluations (IEE) in the Nuevo Laredo, Mexico branch. She has been involved in new evaluators training and mentoring at IEE managing a team in 3 different countries. She has attended TAICEP conferences in person in Redondo Beach as well as virtually.
Bradley is the Assistant Director of Evaluations at International Education Evaluations (IEE) with over four years of experience in the foreign credential evaluation field. He has attended TAICEP conferences in person (in Vancouver, Glasgow, and Redondo Beach) as well as virtually. He has a background in teaching, and worked as an EFL teacher for 3 years in China and 2 years in Japan, and is IEE’s lead trainer for new evaluators.
