20240417T1030 20240417T1130 America/New_York Navigating from Paper to Digital: Embracing Digital Verification Methods in In-House Credential Evaluation

This webinar will present how a university-based in-house admission and credential evaluation team learned to move beyond the paper and embrace digital credential verification. While the University of Helsinki was gradually moving towards a more digital credential evaluation process, COVID brought sudden challenges that forced us to quickly embrace a wide variety of digital credential verification methods. We quickly realized the challenges in working with a plethora of different ways to digitally verify credentials. While a stamped paper document is more or less the same everywhere, when it comes to digital verification methods, everyone keeps reinventing the wheel. For the evaluator, new skills and constant follow-up work are needed. In this webinar we will share our experiences as in-house credential evaluators and talk about concrete challenges that we face in our daily work when evaluating different digital verification methods while being constrained by the admission schedules of the university. We invite you to join our discussion with your own experiences.

Note: Zoom links will be sent to the email addresses on file for registered attendees about 1 hour before each webinar begins. In addition, about 15 minutes before each webinar, the green "Join Meeting" button on each webinar description page will be activated for registered attendees who login.
