20240424T1030 20240424T1130 America/New_York The Education System of India – The New, Old, and The Transition

The grading system and the assignment of credits (marks) varies across universities. How does one convert these into US equivalencies? When one hears the term "Honours", what does it mean? This varies depending on the region and university. When a name on a document and the name given by a student vary, how do you decipher if it is the same person? In 2020, India announced its National Education Policy (NEP). This policy marks a major shift away from the Anglophone system. The major changes, from pre-school to the PhD level, will be discussed in detail. In addition to the structure of the education system, this policy also addresses the structure of the education segment such as the opening up of higher education to foreign universities. What is NAD (National Academic Depository) and how it is used to house credentials for portability and verification. India is making a major push into online education.

Note: Zoom links will be sent to the email addresses on file for registered attendees about 1 hour before each webinar begins. In addition, about 15 minutes before each webinar, the green "Join Meeting" button on each webinar description page will be activated for registered attendees who login.
